Fundacja Bezkres –

With the Granica Group we support local residents of villages in Podlasie, Poland. At the moment the group consists of people who live permanently in the border area with Belarus. For more than a year they have been working together there, helping refugees who are mistreated by the authorities of both countries. Primarily, humanitarian aid is provided in the forest: It is about the supply of water, food, clothing, medicines and offer first aid. This requires skill, cleverness, physical fitness and knowledge of the terrain. All this had to be learned by our activists.

In winter, this work is especially important. Temperatures in Poland often drop below -20°C and people would simply freeze to death in the forest without special equipment.
To this day, hundreds of people have already been helped in this way, including infants, small children, men and women, the elderly, the chronically ill and people with disabilities. The help is always free of charge.
